For the students of Birmingham City University (BCU) it felt as if freshers week wasn't going to happen as many students received emails from the university informing them that they shouldn't invest in any freshers wristbands this year due to the uncertainty that events may not run.

Chloe Tongue; A journalism student from BCU told me of her experience of freshers week this year. She said: " Personally I haven't seen any fresher events for my university...I had hoped there was more organisation from [them]."

Although BCU didn't hold any events or were connected to any. Clubs across Birmingham were still holding events for students.

An example of this was Snobs, they held "sit down @ Snobs" which meant students could go to Snobs with their friends and drink at isolated tables while listening to the djs provided.

The next event will be at the end of this month (30th September) known as their Big Wednesday Sit Down.

Members of the public have been able to buy tickets to sit down in Snobs with friends or smaller groups may be able to show up and pay as long as there is space from 5pm till 10pm due to the curfew time that has been set in the UK.

Snobs informed their customers on the site Fatsoma that "Snobs will be following all current government guidance for Covid-19 to help everybody enjoy their evening safely"

Refunds will be provided if a situation concerning COVID-19 may occur.

However, these clubs may once again be closed due to the fear of a second wave of the coronavirus hitting the UK soon and therefore should avoid interacting in enclosed social spaces.
