Starting my second year at Birmingham City University after the crisis of COVID-19.
As of today (22nd September 2020) I begin my second year of Birmingham City University(BCU) completing a Journalism course after the rocky year we have had I am incredibly excited to start again.
Semester two of my first year at BCU was unfortunately cut short due to the lockdown caused by COVID-19. This meant I was forced to complete many of my lessons at home trapped inside my room away from the amazing environment available for us at BCU.
However this year will different! Although lessons are 50% blended; this meaning I complete one week of lessons in uni and then the week after online, I am eager to push myself to my limits and become the best journalist I can be.
I aspire to improve my confidence further this year and reach out my comfort zone in order to ask more daring questions and get the answers I want from the people I interview, I also hope to explore Podcasting as a way to expand my journalism knowledge as this is area I am looking forward to.
Looking back on last year, I improved immensely! I learnt so many new skills and was encouraged by my lecturers to put myself out in the world, without them I wouldn't have created The Boredom Blog, which is something I am very proud of.
This quick blog post is a promise to myself and to my readers that this academic year I am going to improve further in my journalism skills and become even more confident in the journalist world, soon there will be new and exciting articles for you to read and perhaps even a podcast in the works.
