Car accident in Quarry Bank leaves car overturned

Around four in the afternoon today a young male driver and a female passenger lost control of their car while turning into Woodland Avenue from Quarry Bank High Street, which caused it to collide with a tree and flip over onto the path.


West Midlands Police Service were quick to block off each end of the road in order to avoid any further accidents, whilst the West Midlands Ambulance Service tended to the young people involved.


The driver of the car suffered no serious injuries apart from a cut on his head and was allowed to leave the scene, the passenger was also allowed to leave appearing to have no injuries.

By 4.30 the tow truck had arrived rotating the car back onto its wheels, and allowing the victims of the accident to collect their belongings from the wreckage, It was then towed away.


The Emergency Services left at 5.00 after cleaning up the broken glass of the accident and unblocking the road allowing drivers to get past.


A witness of the accident said: “some day, someone’s going to take that corner too quick and actually have somebody killed”
